Top 5 Lies About Israel's Assault on Gaza

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS CONCERNING THE GAZA HOLOCAUST

Question: Israel says it is only defending itself against recurrent attacks by Hamas and other Palestinian "terrorist" organizations?

Answer: All aggressors say they are only defending themselves. Nazi Germany said it was defending itself. Israel is the last country in the world that is fit to complain about terrorism. After all, Israel represents, encapsulates and embodies terror in its ugliest and most nefarious forms.

ISRAEL: THE MAPS TELL THE TRUE STORY

The truth is that far from being the poor victim it likes to portray itself as, Israel is in fact the most aggressive and belligerent nation in the region, having invaded pretty much everyone it shares a border with.

The following maps show what Israel has actually done.

U.S. blocks U.N. statement on Gaza

The United States late Saturday blocked approval of a U.N. Security Council statement calling for an immediate cease-fire in the Gaza Strip and southern Israel and expressing concern at the escalation of violence between Israel and Hamas.

U.S. deputy ambassador Alejandro Wolff said the United States saw no prospect of Hamas abiding by last week's council call for an immediate end to the violence. Therefore, he said, a new statement at this time "would not be adhered to and would have no underpinning for success, would not do credit to the council."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Totally ignoring the fact that it is Israel that has a history of ignoring UN mandates, and breaking the cease fires.

They said several other Palestinians were wounded in the incident in Gaza's Zeitoun neighbourhood. An Israeli military spokeswoman said she was checking the report. Mauritania withdraws envoy from Israel

Mauritania, one of the few Arab countries that has full diplomatic ties with Tel Aviv, has withdrawn its ambassador from Israel.
Webmaster's Commentary:

Even though this is a symbolic gesture at most, it is a good start.

Every moral country should do the same. To not do this is to enable and defend Israeli genocide.

Any genocide is an horrendous, immoral act.

Group: Israel deliberately attacked Palestinian journalists

Israel deliberately targeted Hamas-run media installations in its bombing campaign on Gaza and is practising media censorship, a journalist rights group said Monday.

The press group, which fights for better protection of journalists in conflict zones, also condemned the recent deaths of two journalists as a result of Israeli attacks.

Israel deliberately targeting civilians in Gaza

Mads Gilbert, a Norwegian doctor in Gaza, tells CBS News that the number of civilians injured and killed in Gaza proves that Israel is deliberately attacking the population.

The Only Nation That Can Do No Wrong

Why is it that every government in the world is fair game for critical comment – except one? Call China ruthless; describe Zimbabwe as a madhouse governed by a lunatic; ridicule the intellectual shortcomings of George W. Bush – and that's a legitimate exercise of free speech.

But criticize Israel, and it's racism.

Robert Fisk: Keeping out the cameras and reporters simply doesn't work

Now the Israeli army is trying the same doomed tactic again. Ban the press. Keep the cameras out. By yesterday morning, only hours after the Israeli army went clanking into Gaza to kill more Hamas members – and, of course, more civilians – Hamas was reporting the capture of two Israeli soldiers. Reporters on the ground could have sorted out the truth or the lie about that. But without a single Western journalist in Gaza, the Israelis were left to tell the world that they didn't know if the story was true.

Israel rains fire on Gaza with phosphorus shells

Israel is believed to be using controversial white phosphorus shells to screen its assault on the heavily populated Gaza Strip yesterday. The weapon, used by British and US forces in Iraq, can cause horrific burns but is not illegal if used as a smokescreen.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Hey, honest; we were making a smokescreen right above that schoolyard!"

Israel armed with internet savvy

The thermal imaging footage shot from an Israeli drone hovering over Gaza shows eight Palestinian militants loading rockets on to a lorry. Within seconds, the drone's sights are locked on to the vehicle and it and the ghostlike figures nearby are incinerated in a missile blast.

Or so tens of thousands of visitors to the popular video-posting internet site YouTube have been led to believe. The clip was one of several dramatic scenes uploaded to the site by the Israeli army last week, the first time a national army has created its own YouTube channel.

A subsequent investigation by the Israeli human rights group B'Tselem attracted less attention. It suggests the rockets were in fact gas canisters and that the supposed militants were civilians moving welding equipment after their workshop had been damaged in one of the hundreds of Israeli air strikes on Gaza over the past week.

Israel military keeps wary eye on northern border(Lebanon)

Some of the thousands of extra reservists called up by the Israeli military are to be held ready in case of conflict on Israel's northern border with Lebanon, the scene of a long and costly battle two years ago.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel is trying to find a way to kick off a new war with Lebanon. That's why those false-flag rockets were set up inside the Lebanese border aimed back at Israel (luckly discovered and destroyed by the Lebanese border patrol on the first day of the Gaza war). Even though the rocket plan did not work out,. Israel has been flying warplanes over Lebanon and Syria this last week, obviously trying to provoke those countries into shooting at their aircraft, to kick off a wider regional war.

MAINSTREAM PRESS BEGINNING TO REVEAL WHAT THE GAZA CARNAGE IS REALLY ALL ABOUT BUT TOO LITTLE AND IS IT TOO LATE?

Webmaster's Commentary:

The corporate media are starting to show the reality of Gaza because they know it is getting out anyway via the blogs.
